Release Notes v1.1.6 - 17 July 2025

On 17 July 2025 we released into production a new version of the PS+ software, this was an enhancement release affecting both the 3D viewer and Project management interfaces.

Selective file opening - On the Project management interface, inside each project there is a new “View” tab that allows you to easily search and filter all the files that are contained within a project. Filters by “file type” as well as “upload date” are available to help you narrow down your list of files and a text-based search box allows you to focus your search on particular files. You can make multiple selections as to which files you would like to open in the viewer across all the datasets, 3D models and linework. Once you have selected all the necessary files, you can click the “Open Selections” button that will take you through to the 3D viewer loading the files that you selected.

On your dashboard, you can now see a finer grained view into the storage used on your account. The storage graph has been enhanced to show more information and clicking on it will drill down to a table-based view of the different types of files and the storage allocation used.

We have made changes to the processing and display of 3D objects. Processing times have been improved, and we offer enhanced texture support in our 3D viewer. We have also improved handling of Autodesk RVT files and expanded support to now include all the IFC formats (2x3, 4 and 4.3).

An exciting addition we have made that is relevant for Revit® users is that we have integrated with “Qbitec for Revit”. This allows point clouds that are stored in Point Share Plus to be streamed directly into Revit using the cloud connector in the “Qbitec for Revit” plugin. Please reach out to us if you would like to participate in the Beta for this exciting new feature.

Enterprise users will benefit from changes made to enable the search and filtering of users on the User Management and Team Assignment screens.

Finally, there have been significant changes to the backend of our system particularly around user subscriptions. Most of the changes will be seamless to you as an end user but these improvements bring about performance improvements and are moving us in a direction to offer more exciting features and services in the future.

Summary of release

  • New Project “View” tab allows finer grained filtering and sorting of the project files that the user would like to open in the viewer. Searches across all datasets, 3D objects and linework in the project.
  • Finer grained tracking and reporting of used storage. Storage graph is clickable and shows detailed table of used storage, including statistics of “multifile upload” storage.
  • Integration with “Qbitec for Revit” – allowing point clouds stored in PSP to be streamed into Revit®.
  • Enhanced 3D object processing – better performance and improved compatibility (RVT and associated materials, IFC versions 2x3, 4 and 4.3)
  • Performance improvements while validating customer subscription information to help speed up user experience.
  • When adding a new project, the project is automatically opened upon creation allowing datasets to be added directly.
  • Enterprise – User management – search and column sorting added.
  • Enterprise – Team management – user search added.
  • Enterprise administrators can now add/update team logos.
  • Confirmation popup when closing browser tab while active multifile uploads are still running in the background.

Feature Enhancements / New Functionality

  • Subscription success message corrected to show correct description.
  • Fix added for opening of user saved snapshots from the project “User Snapshots” tab.
  • Fix added for user notifications, ensuring delivery of dataset and object processing notifications on the UI.

Bug fixes

  • If the Volume Box selection is rotated away from parallel with the X, Y, Z planes, when converted to a clip, the data downloaded will contain additional points as the bounding box of the rotated volume is used to specify the extents of the clip.

Known issues

  • Planning and development for our next release is already underway.
  • Enhanced storage usage calculations and graphs are to be rolled out with the next release.
  • Exciting things are in store for users already using Revit.

Future improvements

  • When uploading LAS/LAZ 1.4 files, please ensure that they conform to the specification and that the relevant Coordinate Reference System information is embedded (as this is a mandatory field).
  • In a previous release we upgraded the algorithms used to process and display PLY and OBJ 3D objects, this improves the rendering of the objects but may require a quick rebuild of the underlying data structure. Should this be the case, your 3D object will not load in the 3D viewer and you will notice an orange “Loading 3D Object” message that pops up at the bottom of the screen which will not disappear. To rectify this, you may need to close your browser (if it becomes unresponsive). Return to the Project Dashboard open the “3D models” tab in your project – click on the PLY/OBJ to open its settings page and then click on the red “Rebuild” button. Should the rebuild result in an error, you can use the “Move origin to center” tick box on the rebuild dialogue which should rectify the error.
